A Snowflake’s Chance

“To those who can hear me, I say do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish…”

-Charlie Chaplin, The Great Dictator

  1. I am the voice –

    and frightened
    and restless
    and pure…

    pure like a soiled thing,
    a wrong thing,
    a sore…

    the voice that kicks
    and screams
    and howls…

    the wolf in your streets
    that carries a need…

    the voice that nearly disappeared…
that curled up and wept on the cold stone steps –

a story on pause in the night city light.

    I am the voice,
    trying to honour the softness…
trying to write what the world will not read…
    trying to speak
on a stage made of stillness…
    trying to speak
to those gaps in your eyes…

    selling out,
one shallow breath at a time.

    I am the voice
that leaves no ripples when it dies –

    silent revolution
    the silent, wordless name.

      1. Loved it !!!! He was a visionary I suppose! 🙂 I don’t know too much about him other than the silent films he did. I’m going to have to research him a bit. I love classical movies . I grew up watching them and musicals with my mom. They bring such good memories to mind.
